Excellent stay in this hotel. Neat and clean. Promptly attend all calls and they try to make the stay comfortable. Basic amenities. Smiling reception and attend promptly. Food is excellent. Grateful to Chef Mr Deepak Negi to accede my request for Moa Machh fry when I requested at about 12 Noon. They collected the Fish and the meal was ready by 1.30 PM. Special thanks to him. Excellent Breakfast with diversity. Example of treating Guest. That is Jorhat. Good Management.

So if you come to North East India, you’re probably here for animal viewing or tea. I’m hear on business, my first hotel (see lower review) almost made me resign and go home.. Prism doesn’t represent well online, but let me assure you it’s much better than a Novotel, Four Points or Hilton Garden. The location is good, but most of all the rooms are new and modern. I am not scared to take my clothes off in bed or use the washroom. Being careful not to over sell it, I’ll leave you with this. If this is you’re first stop in India from the west, you’ll be comfortable here. If you’ve been in India awhile as I have, you’ll be over the moon. I’m in room 310 - some street noise but very good!

One of the best Hotels for staying in Jorhat, very conveniently located. The room was good and spacious. However, the following minor observations are made: (i) Bathroom floor being even with the room floor, water trickles to room; May be a marble strip at the bathroom door frame will solve the problem. (ii) A floor-mat in front of bathroom is necessary. (iii) The mirror in the room should be shifted from the bathroom door and more conveniently located for ease of dressing and visibility.

I don't think there are many decent options for stay in Jorhat. Hotel Prism is one of them. Location is very convenient with a big Bazar outlet in the same building which may be an added attraction for some. The Hotel is quite neat and clean, rooms are spacious, the room I stayed had beautiful view. The restaurant has limited range to choose from, but still offers some good dishes. Staff is polite, helpful and cordial. But there are some inconsistency in service. Sometimes the bathroom supplies like towels will be inadequate. Even tea, coffee sachets were not replenished regularly. Only one cup was provided for the double bed room. On the other hand they provided iron with ironing table, coat hanger etc. Room cleaning was erratic too. But they will help you by doing extra bit if you ask. So you will be happy if you don't look for professional excellence.

I had to stay here because of work requirements for two nights. I didn’t get out of the hotel outside of work so can’t give any feedback regarding that, so the review will focus just on the hotel. Located fairly central about 10 minutes from the airport, Prism hotel is situated above the Big Bazzar (shopping centre). Access is via security towards the back of the building and reception is on the 3rd floor. Check in was a little slow with quite a lot of information to be given but was otherwise fine. Check out was a different story and took the better part of 20 minutes! This is possibly because the normal front desk staff are not on early (7am) in the morning. It did however make me very late for work but that’s not the end of the world haha. The room itself (Deluxe Double room) was well appointed and tidy. First day the bathroom had limited supplies (1 x towel, 1 x face towel, 1 x soap) no bath mat or hand towel was supplied. Word of caution be very careful getting out of the shower the floors are very slippery. The second day service had everything in the bathroom, including a floor mat. Room service was a little difficult to order due to a bad phone and the language barrier but the order was correct both times. I found the food to be good and reasonably priced. Time for some bad points........ Cost! The room was booked for me by work and I assumed paid for but it wasn’t. When this issue was resolved I discovered the room rate was 6000rup a night (€80). For this it was just the room, no washing, no meals, nothing. To put it in perspective I pay a similar rate for a very well known upmarket hotel in Hyderabad that includes everything. All I would say is the room is worth between 3000-4000rup at best. WiFi, there is no WiFi at this hotel and the TV has only Hindi channels apart from one news channel. So make sure you have plenty of data on your phone or tablet. Something that I probably shouldn’t be annoyed about is the disturbances. Each day I had the do not disturb sign on my door but around 6pm there was a knock, I left it hoping they would see the sign but it kept going. When I answered the door it was a staff member handing out biscuits. Also around 9-10pm each night I got a phone call (that woke me up) asking if I wanted to order dinner. As I said I shouldn’t be annoyed by this as they are just been courteous but it did break my sleep both nights. I’d say if you don’t want this to happen just ask at reception. Finally just be careful with what is and isn’t been charged. When I checked out and asked for the final bill they included a previously paid meal. No real problem to resolve and it was. Then about 2 hours later I got a call from the manager ranting that I needed to pay another 500rup for transport one way from the airport on the first day. A heated discussion ensued and I refused to pay. This was not the first call in 2 days I had received from the manager either. So would I stay here again? NO and I very rarely say that and I have passed it on to my corporate team to ensure nobody else from our company does either.
